"We typically meet each month at area restaurants with a speaker who discusses RI Economic Development. This month we also want to include a moment to recognize another important RI partner by giving a check for $500.00 to the RI Community Food Bank. In these times of hunger, we would like to take a moment to thank those in our community that are on the front lines every day helping our neighbors. RI Community Food Bank is in the forefront of providing for the community. Each month the RI Community Food Bank serves over 57,000 people in need through its network of member agencies across the state. Not only does RI Community Food Bank provide food for those in need, but also helps provide education such as the Food Bank’s Community Kitchen culinary job training program. Through the Federal Hill House where assistance is provided for those in need and those in need pay it forward by working and helping keep the pantry stocked. RI Community Food Bank does so much more for the community than provide food. We wanted to extend our thanks to our neighbor, helping neighbors." |
